Meet the team

  • Tony Oak

I started Gardening in 1985 working with Goldfinch Landscape.

Attended Capel Manor Horticulture College in 1988 completing a 2 year City Guild course in Horticulture and Hard Landscaping

I started Longacre Garden Services in 1999 with my wife Karen and eldest son Martin who also had completed a Horticulture course at Capel Manor College.

Since then I have built up a successful landscaping and garden maintenance business. My second son, Daniel worked with me for a few years and now has a successful property maintenance company Quercus property maintenance and now my third son, Neil works a long side me for Longacre Tree and Garden Services.

One of my proudest achievements is a high percentage of our clients have been with us since the beginning of Longacre Tree and Garden Services.

When Longacre Garden Services started I dealt with the clerical side of the business. I soon found I had a flare for design.

I specialise in natural ponds, ponds and water features.

In 2010 I started a level 2 and 3 Garden design and horticulture course at Capel Manor. In 2013 I gained a diploma qualification in Garden Design and horticulture.

While my two brothers started working for Longacre Tree and garden services I went away to learn arboriculture.

I started learning my trade in 2002 at CSG Ushers to begin with staying there for 2 years getting much valued experience. I then went to G&R tree surgeons for 2 years where I was taught to climb working mainly around Hampstead garden suburb area doing a lot of domestic work up until 2006.

I then worked for 5 years at Going Green landscapes where I met my good friend Neil Douse (one of the leading arborist working on the Richmond contract) who really honed my skills in all types of tree surgery from felling to reducing, for the last 5 years I have been working with one of the biggest arboriculture company’s in England Gristwood & Toms, doing all types of tree work, expanding my skills to crane work and large fells across several different contracts in and around the London area. I finished working here on one of there more prestigious contracts around the Welwyn Garden City area. Proud now to be adding an arboriculture side to Longacre Tree and Garden services working with our large existing client base, I’m fully NPTC qualified.

I started working for Longacre Tree and Garden services in 2009 with my dad, Tony Oak. I have gained a vast amount of experience. I’ve also recently undertaken some NPTC qualifications to help in the groundwork to assist my brother, Martin Oak for our arboriculture side. I’m due to start some college courses to gain more knowledge and become the best gardener I can be.
